Facts of true history are recorded by God in His Word, the Holy Bible.

The LORD God’s truths are often stark, bare-bones, bottom line.

His words are true; they are factual.  Especially in the accounts of history, the LORD God gives the “who”, the “what”, the “where”, the “how” and the “why” of events.

He also gives us the beauty of poetry and songs.  These are also to be thought about, to be contemplated.  The Psalms and songs of praise can be found throughout the Bible.

The Promises of God (Prophecy) points to Messiah.  The prophecy of the Lord Jesus’ first coming, or Advent, as a baby in Bethlehem; fulfilled prophecy of the prophet Isaiah.  Jesus second coming, or Advent, is also prophesied as King of kings and LORD of lords coming in the area of Jerusalem.

God interprets His own words!  Did you know that?  When studying the whole Bible, God is giving indicators to what His meaning is through other parts of the Bible.

One example of many:

The promise of Messiah overcoming Satan and death:
(NIV) Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.”

The promise of Messiah coming as a baby:
(NIV) Isaiah 9:6
“For to us a child is born,
To us a son is given,
And the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

The fulfillment of that promise:
(NIV) Luke 2:10-11
“… ‘Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, he is Christ the Lord.”
The history of Jesus’ birth… happened.

~ Take it to heart ~

The history of the sons of Israel leaving Egypt on a specific night… happened.
Moses and Pharaoh were real men.

REMEMBER: God’s words are true!
