Extremes
Taking anything to the extreme is usually not a good idea. But many people do it, all the time.
What areas do you take to an extreme? For some, it is exercise or eating or playing games or work!
One example of taking a commandment of God to the extreme is doing no work on the Sabbath day. The LORD commanded the sons of Israel to keep a Feast of Unleavened Bread. The first day and the seventh day were to be holy days, set apart for God.
(NASB) Exodus 12:16 “… no work at all shall be done on them, except what must be eaten by every person, that alone may be prepared by you.”
Did you notice? The LORD said that preparation of meals were to be done on the holy days and the feast days. He did not say: no work was to be done in preparation of meals.
How many times do you and I take God’s words to an extreme?
~ Take it to heart ~
Extremes – be careful of staying within the lines the LORD God established for our protection and good.
There is so much room within God’s parameters, His boundaries or guard rails.
We are to love Him, serve Him and obey Him – all within His boundaries.
