“Just as I am, without one plea…”  I cannot plead for myself, nor can anyone else intervene for me before God.  None of my good works or words will be good enough before the holy God of the Holy Bible… only Jesus Christ can plead for me… or you!

The next questions:  How do I get Jesus to plead for me?  How can I enter heaven if I cannot plead for myself?

The LORD God tells us.  His way into heaven, His only way, is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior.  There is no other way.

Your good works won’t get you into heaven.  Your godly friends will not get you a pass into heaven.  No one is good enough to go to heaven into God’s presence.  No one!  Only Jesus.

“Just as I am, without one plea  But that Thy blood was shed for me…”
Only Jesus died, He gave His blood to cover, to forgive your sins and mine.

In Exodus 12, God’s “picture” shows that the blood of the sacrificial lamb had to be applied to the two doorposts and the lintel of the house in which His people would be when He passed over Egypt.  His judgment on sin and the gods of Egypt would be executed for those who were not protected by the lamb’s blood.

When we are saved, when God looks at us He does not see our sin. Our sins are covered by the blood, so He sees the shed blood of Jesus, instead of our sin. This is what makes us righteous. It is not our own righteousness that satisfies God’s wrath. It is Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf that makes us right with God.

You are invited to believe, you are asked to come to God by faith in His Son’s sacrifice in your behalf.

“Just as I am, without one plea
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!”

~ Take it to heart ~

There are two kinds of people in the world: either you are a follower of Christ, or you are not.

Follower of Christ, praise your Savior.

If you are not a follower of Christ Jesus, you can become a follower of Christ, for He wants you to receive His forgiveness, His protection, His provision for you ~ this moment.

Will you now say “O Lamb of God, I come! I come!”
