How would you explain the idea of what can save you from the sins you commit against the living God?  That is a hard concept… and being saved cannot be earned, or bought, or hoped for with empty hope.

God Himself told the Hebrew people “to take a lamb for themselves…” Exodus 12:3

God in His wisdom used a “picture” of actual sacrifices of a lamb to show what He would do to take away a person’s sins.

It is not through a sacrificial ritual but through the actual sacrificial act of Jesus dying on the cross.  He became a substitute for you and me.  We should be punished for our sins, for the acts we carry out against the living God.

But, Jesus took all of our sins, as if they were His, and died on the cross.

How do we know God the Father accepted His sacrifice?  Three days Jesus was buried in a tomb.  The third day He was given actual, physical, resurrection life.

God told His people to “…take a lamb for themselves…” and we are to do just that!

We are to take Jesus, the Lamb of God, who took away your sins and mine when He died by crucifixion.  We are to ask Him to be our Savior.

Jesus is the only sacrifice God the Father accepts for sins.

There is no other way, there is no other person, “god”, or being which God the Father accepts as the perfect sacrificial sin offering. Only Jesus!

Followers of Christ… do you need to be reminded, like I do, that we are to live with gratitude and thankfulness for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ?

If you are not now a follower of Christ by faith in what He did on the cross for you… you can, right now.

(NASB) Romans 10:8-11 “But what does it say?  ‘THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, in your mouth and in your heart’ – that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, ‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.’
