Dates are important.  Birthdays, anniversaries of many kinds, events which change our world, all these dates are important to us.  The first month of their year was established for the Hebrew people by the God of the Holy Bible.

(NASB) Exodus 12:1-2 “Now the LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt,
2 ‘This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you.”

God established the first month of the Jewish calendar which included the Passover.

Passover is important for the Jewish people and for believers in Christ Jesus.

Passover is celebrated in the spring of the year.  Its significance is felt throughout Christendom.  Followers of Christ call it Easter.

The LORD God gave the utmost importance to Passover.
As believers and followers of Christ do we treat Easter too lightly?

Do we think of Easter as new and colorful clothing, bunnies, chicks, colored eggs and chocolate candy?  Shame on us!

Easter should be treated with the greatest respect
and worship of our God.

As this devotional will be focusing on Exodus 12 for some days to – I invite you to return to this devotional each day and learn with me the importance of the Passover and how all of it points to our Lord Jesus Christ.

April 19, 2019 is Good Friday, the day Christians recognize that Christ Jesus died on the cross for us.

April 21, 2019 is Easter for all of Christendom.  Easter is the time of celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave.

The resurrection of Jesus:
Jesus died, was buried and was given physical life, never to die again.  We worship and serve the risen Savior, Jesus on the first day of the week, Sunday.  He rose from the grave on the first day of the week. Luke 24:1, 6-7

The Jewish Passover will begin April 19, 2019 and end April 27, 2019.

~ Take it to heart ~

The LORD God foretold of His only begotten Son …
“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold;
My chosen one in whom My soul delights.”
(NASB) Isaiah 42:1

The importance of Passover is centered in God’s only Begotten Son,
the Lord Jesus Christ.
