The LORD told Moses to talk with the Hebrew slaves in Egypt.

First, God told Moses to tell them they would be leaving Egypt after one more plague was accomplished by God.  Exodus 11:1

Second, the Hebrew slaves were to ask their Egyptian neighbors for articles of silver and gold.  Exodus 11:2

Good news – the sons of Israel would be delivered from slavery!
Curious instructions: to ask for articles of silver and gold.

The LORD’s instructions would be understood much later when the sons of Israel were in the wilderness.

Those precious metals would be used in the building of the tabernacle for the worship of the LORD God.  Silver would be used as the bases and tops of the tent poles and hooks from which curtains would be hung for the courtyard and the tabernacle itself.
Exodus 38:25-28

Gold would be used for the furniture and all the utensils within the tabernacle.  Exodus 37:1-28

The tabernacle would be used for the worship of the LORD.

When the slaves were still in Egypt, and before the last devastating plague occurred, did they have any idea about why they were to ask for articles of silver and gold?  I don’t think they had a clue!

The LORD has a plan to use what is in your life and mine for His purposes and for His glory.

Are you willing to give Him what He provides for you?

What is the LORD asking us for at this time in our life?

Whatever it is, we are to give it to Him with joy.  Why, because He has a plan for it – later.

And we can know He will use it for His glory!

~ Take it to heart ~

Think about this:
You have something of value in your life which the LORD desires to use for His glory!
Whatever it is – it is as valuable as silver and gold in the sight of God.
