Faith in Myself or Faith in God?
The LORD God told Moses that He now hardened Pharaoh’s heart. When anyone is callous, hardened toward God time after time after time… there comes a moment when God hardens their heart. This happened to Pharaoh. Exodus 10:1
Pharaoh’s faith was in himself; after all he was a ‘god’ among the many which were in Egypt.
Pharaoh repeatedly defied the living God.
(NASB) Proverbs 29:1 “A man who hardens his neck after much reproof
Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy.”
Faith in myself is making me a “god” in my own eyes.
Confidence in my abilities is not the same as faith in me.
Be careful where you place your faith… faith in anything outside of God is worshiping false gods.
(NASB) Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
REMEMBER: there is only One God.
“… The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!”
(NASB) Deuteronomy 6:4
~ Take it to heart ~
This is why your faith and mine is to be in God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
(NASB) 1 Peter 1:20-21 “For He (Jesus Christ) was foreknown before the foundations of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you
21 who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.”
Is your faith in yourself — or — in the living God?
