Faith in God… is built on His truth.
A devotional, “Streams in the Desert”, is a favorite of mine. On July 13, page 270, the devotional says in part, “That is genuine faith – believing and declaring what God has said, stepping out on what appears to be thin air and finding solid rock beneath your feet.”
Faith does not give in or give way to fear. Faith in God… is built on His truth.
Faith does not let fear control us:
The fear of what other believers may think…
The fear of circumstances…
The fears of “if only I said something or did something different”…
The fear which is expressed in anger: anger at myself; anger towards other people; anger at things beyond my control…
The fear of depression – the nose-dive into darkness with no seeming way out…
How are fear, anger, and depression overcome? Not by ourselves – but by God Himself. He may use His word; other people and their expertise; a song; a friend – God is not limited in how He will help you to grow in your faith in Him.
God’s words are worth hanging onto, believing, trusting and clinging to ever more tightly.
A small child hangs on tightly to mama or daddy’s finger as they walk. Aren’t we also to hang on tightly to our Father God’s fingers as we walk through our days?
~ Take it to heart ~
Faith is daring to trust God, period.
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
(NASB) Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
(NIV) Hebrews 11:1
Faith in God… is built on His truth. That is a fact!
When you are in an emotional turmoil, hang onto the facts of faith in God.
