How many times have I (or you) said we would do something we knew the LORD was calling us to do?  Then… we backed out!!!

Pharaoh did that after he said he would let the Hebrew slaves go to sacrifice to the LORD.  The invasion of frogs was removed and so was Pharaoh’s word.  It wasn’t worth anything.  He reneged on his promise.  He hardened his heart and chose not to listen…
Exodus 8:1-15

How many times have you hardened your heart and chose not to listen to God Himself?

There is a way back to God, even now…
(NASB) 1 John 1:9-10 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”

Perhaps you could make the following your prayer:

(NASB) Psalm 51:10-13 [paraphrased]
  ‘O God, the living God of the Holy Bible, create in me a clean heart.  Renew a steadfast spirit within me… help me follow through on what pleases You.

Do not throw me away from Your presence.  I know that if I am a follower of Your Son, Jesus Christ, nothing can take Your Holy Spirit from me.  If I am not a follower of Christ Jesus, I yield to You and take Jesus as my Savior from my sins, right now, this moment.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation… what blessing upon blessing to know I am saved even after I die physically.  And all because Jesus is my Savior.  He died, He was buried, He was restored to physical life (resurrection from the grave) and He is my Savior.

Please help me to continue to grow and mature as a follower of Christ Jesus.
