The Cobra
The cobra is a fearsome snake. According to the dictionary – the cobra is the largest poisonous snake in the world. It is capable of expanding the skin of its neck to form a flattened hood. Perhaps you have heard of the term, king cobra.
Pictographs of the Pharaohs show a hooded cobra on the front of their headdress. The king cobra was a symbol of the Pharaoh’s power over life and death.
How did the living God prove He was more powerful than Pharaoh? How did the living God prove that He had the power over life and death?
The LORD God knew exactly what He was doing when He had the staff of Aaron become a snake in front of the Pharaoh. Aaron’s snake swallowed all of the Egyptian magician’s staffs after they became snakes. Exodus 7:10-13
Remember: God’s power was greater than the power of the tyrant Pharaoh.
God’s power is greater than any power you may fear.
God proved to Pharaoh that He was mightier; He was greater than Pharaoh. God alone has the ultimate power over life and death. Pharaoh only had earthly power to take man’s life or spare him.
God’s power is a spiritual reality.
~ Take it to heart ~
Followers of Christ – we need not fear anything or anyone – our LORD God is mightier!
(ESV) Psalm 33:18-19 “Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His steadfast love,
19 that He may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.”
