Hearing…
When others talk, are you hearing what they are saying? Perhaps you are busy thinking about what you will say when they finally stop talking.
Being a good listener is appreciated by others. Hearing, actually hearing, is practiced by too few people. Would others say you hear them?
If you are a parent, are you hearing what your children are saying to you?
If you are a child, do you really pay attention to what your mother and/or father are saying?
Hearing… what others are saying… are you in the practice of hearing what others are pleading for you to hear?
The LORD told Moses He heard the groaning of the sons of Israel in Egyptian slavery. And furthermore, He remembered His promise to their ancestors: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. What did He promise more than 400 years earlier?
His covenant included land, the Promised Land of Canaan. Exodus 6:5
Then the LORD told Moses another promise He was making… “I am the LORD and I will deliver the sons of Israel from their bondage in Egypt.”
More promises: the LORD Himself would redeem them with His outstretched arm and His great judgments. Exodus 6:6
Only God could make those kinds of promises and keep them.
~ Take it to heart ~
Hearing: God hears you and … He remembers His promises.
You too can cry out to God and He will hear you… He remembers His promises to all who follow Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
When we cry out to God in our trouble, He delivers us from our distresses. Psalm 107:6
Therefore we are to:
“…give thanks to the LORD, for He is God,
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
(NASB) Psalm 107:1
