Remembering a promise…
Do you remember a promise you made to someone – years ago?
The LORD did just that. He made a promise, a covenant with Abraham. He made the same promise to Abraham’s son, Isaac and then to his son, Jacob. God established His covenant with three generations and He promised a specific land, for them and their descendants. That land was Canaan.
The LORD’s promises are always kept. He does not renege, nor does he forget them. He never backs down from what He promises.
Does He always fulfill His promises immediately? At times He does; however, many times He waits a long time. Hundreds of years may pass into history, but He never forgets His promises.
The LORD God promised three men, three generations of the same family a Promised Land. He didn’t give it to them at the time of His promise. In fact, He waited over 400 years before He fulfilled that promise. Many things occurred before His promise was kept.
God reveals His faithfulness to individuals over and over. He shows His love for His people, again and again. He never forgets His promises to you.
Have you received His promise of salvation by faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ?
Have you known His faithfulness as you live in this day? This day may be one of sorrow and grief, or one of joy and gladness – God is still faithful… no matter what is going on in our lives.
God remembers His promises…
Remember God’s promises, your faith in God is important: God is Who He says He is, and through His power He does what He says He will do.
~ Take it to heart ~
Followers of Christ, we are fellow heirs to God’s promises. By faith let us live today and tomorrow knowing God remembers His promises.
(NASB) Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
