The Lesson of the Black Burden
A woman dressed in a white blouse and white slacks carried a large black plastic bag filled with trash. What a contrast and yet a “picture” of the followers of Christ. We are dressed in His righteousness… which is pure.
That lady throws the large black burden filled with trash away… which is what God does with our sins when our faith is in our Savior. He takes away our sins. We are saved by faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus.
Sin is a black burden we carry around. Like a large black plastic bag we fill it up with the trash of our sins as we walk through our todays.
The LORD God of the Holy Bible made a way for that large black burden filled with the trash of our sins to be thrown away. Far away… so far it cannot be recovered.
How? How can we get rid of the trash in our lives? We choose to change and that works, for a while. Then we say or do something which shows we are sinners. We carry around a black burden… the trash of our sins.
How? How can we get rid of the black burden? For the followers of Christ, we prayerfully speak to our Savior and ask Him to forgive us our sins… to forgive us for the trash in our lives.
He takes the black burden, the trash of our sins and He throws it away. We are forgiven, because Jesus took our black burdens and made them His own. When? When He died on the cross. The Proof? He was resurrected from the grave three days after He died.
My friend, you do not need to carry your trash – your black burden of sin any longer. You can be saved, this moment!
(NASB) Romans 10:9-10 “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
~ Take it to heart ~
(NASB) John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
The Lesson of the Black Burden – you do not have to carry around the trash of your sins any longer… Jesus wants to take your sins and throw them away, never to be seen again.
“He will again have compassion on us;
He will tread our iniquities under foot.
Yes, You will cast all their sins
Into the depths of the sea.”
(NASB) Micah 7:19
