Disillusionment
To review this true story: Pharaoh came down hard on the sons of Israel. Exodus 5:6-9
The sons of Israel met with Pharaoh and came away disillusioned. They accused Moses and Aaron, blaming them for the increased labor and sorrow. Exodus 5:21
What did Moses do?
(NASB) Exodus 5:22-23 “Then Moses returned to the LORD and said, ‘O Lord, why have You brought harm to this people? Why did You ever send me?
23 ‘Ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done harm to this people, and You have not delivered Your people at all.’”Moses was truly perplexed … “Why”… “Why”…?
From the time Moses went before Pharaoh and asked permission for the Hebrew slaves to go worship the living God in the wilderness… the working conditions had become unbearable.
Disillusionment! Perplexity!Disillusionment is distressful, defeating and can draw us away from trusting the LORD.
We can choose to replace disillusionment with faith and return to the LORD. We are to acknowledge Him because He is our Savior!
Then comes the hard part – we are to wait on the LORD. God’s perfect timing is worth the wait. This takes faith, trusting Him alone; we are not to trust our circumstances or other people.
How will you now pray for your situation?
~ Take it to heart ~
“Make me know Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
For You I wait all the day.”
(NASB) Psalm 25:4-5
