What God says is enough!
Moses and Aaron talked with Pharaoh just as God directed them. And Pharaoh reacted just as God said he would. He refused to let the sons of Israel celebrate a feast to the LORD in the wilderness. Exodus 5:1-2
Then they said to Pharaoh … ‘The God of the Hebrews has met with us…”
And God did meet with Moses and Aaron before they went to see Pharaoh.The living God wants to meet with you. He wants to speak to you as you read His word, the Holy Bible.
Moses and Aaron continued to speak to Pharaoh, “… Please, let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God…”
The living God deserves our worship – He wants us to take time apart from our normal activities to worship Him.
Worshiping God is responding to Who He is; to consider what He is doing in our lives.
“OH GIVE thanks to the LORD, call upon His name;Make known His deeds among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonders.
3 Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.”
(NASB) Psalm 105:1-3
Then, and only then, Moses and Aaron added their words to what the LORD had said to them!
(NASB) Exodus 5:3 “… otherwise He will fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword.”What God does not say is important. It is important because we are not to add to His words. Many times our minds expand upon what God says.
We are to listen, actively listen, to what God actually says in His word.
How often do you add to what God says? Sometimes it is from fear or wanting to make our point in a forceful manner. For whatever reason, we are to tell others only what God does say.
~ Take it to heart ~
When we tell others the Good News – there is no need to add to what God says.
What God says is enough.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.”
(NASB) Psalm 19:14
