When anyone makes a request… there needs to be a response, doesn’t there?  Ignoring a request is the same as saying “no” to the request.

The Request of God
God made a request to the Egyptian Pharaoh through Moses and Aaron.  The sons of Israel were slaves in Egypt.  What was the request?

(NASB) Exodus 5:1 “AND AFTERWARD Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘Let My people go that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.’”

The Response of Pharaoh
(NASB) Exodus 5:2 “But Pharaoh said, ‘Who is the LORD that I should obey His voice to let Israel go?  I do not know the LORD, and besides, I will not let Israel go.’”

Pharaoh recognized that the LORD was asking him to obey His voice – and he said, ‘No way!’
The Pharaoh’s of Egypt were considered gods… who was this LORD to ask him to obey?
Let slaves go to worship?  ‘No!  I won’t let them go!’

Pharaoh rejected the request of the LORD God.  Today there are also many people who reject the request of God Himself.

Another man, his name was Job, gave insight into this very problem.
“They say to God, ‘Depart from us!
We do not even desire the knowledge of Your ways.
15 ‘Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him,
And what would we gain if we entreat Him?’”
(NASB) Job 21:14-15

The Request of God
God requests all of us to respond to Him.

The Response to God
Am I too mindful of what others will think if I become a committed follower of Jesus Christ as my Savior?
Do I think that I do not need to respond to God?
God requires a response from every person.

If you have responded and your Savior is Jesus Christ:
He calls men and women, boys and girls to tell others what He says.  How else will anyone know of His love for them?
