Learn to Trust God ~ without fear!
Moses was concerned. True, the living LORD called him to go to Egypt and lead about two million slaves to the Promised Land. True, Moses needed confidence that the sons of Israel would believe that God sent him.
So, how did the LORD choose to show Moses and those he would be leading proof that Moses was the one the LORD God chose?
This is what God asked Moses to do with the staff in his hand…
(NASB) Exodus 4:3 “Then He said, ‘Throw it on the ground.’ So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.”Wise man, that Moses! He ran; he did NOT like snakes.
But God had something else in mind…
(NASB) Exodus 4:4 “But the LORD said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your hand and grasp it by the tail’…”Now don’tcha know that snakes are to be caught right behind the head so they cannot bite?!!!
And God said “catch it by its tail?” Did Moses think, “You have GOT to be kidding!”
However, Moses was learning to trust what God said for him to do.
Moses’ was a fast learner…
(NASB) Exodus 4:4 “… so he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand–”Moses was given an exam by God… right there in the wilderness.
This is why Moses was to demonstrate proof that God called him to lead the sons of Israel.
(NASB) Exodus 4:5 “that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.’”Learning to trust the LORD is to do so without fear, and if you do fear, trust Him anyway… Moses is an example for you and me.
(NASB) Psalm 56:11
“In God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid.
What can man do to me?”
~ Take it to heart ~
True trust in God trusts Him in fearful situations.
Trust is following where He leads you.
Trust God’s words to you.
