Do you doubt others will listen to you or believe you?

Moses doubted the sons of Israel would listen to him or believe him.

He questioned whether the sons of Israel would believe that the Lord God sent him to lead them out of Egyptian slavery.

“Listen” to what Moses asked the LORD…
(NASB) Exodus 4:1 “THEN MOSES said, ‘What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say?  For they may say, ‘The LORD has not appeared to you.’”

How did the LORD answer him?
(NASB) Exodus 4:2 ‘The LORD said to him, ‘What is that in your hand?’  And he said, ‘A staff.’”

Moses was a shepherd… and naturally he would carry a staff in his hand. He probably used that staff every day to protect and guide the sheep.

The LORD calls His followers to be actively working in the business of life.

What do you use every day?  The LORD asks us to use what we are familiar with and use.

Do you use a pencil, pen or chalk on a daily basis?  Perhaps you use a computer, iPad, cell phone for your work… the LORD will ask you and me to use what is in our hand.

Perhaps you have a vacuum cleaner, or an iron in your hand… use those for God’s purposes in your life.  Keeping a home running smoothly is a full time job.

Perhaps you operate machines of some kind… use your skills for God’s glory.

~ Take it to heart ~

What is that in your hand?
Use that for doing what God calls you to do!
