What is this?  Shouldn’t great promises and great plenty mean no problems?  So many times people want life to go their way, with plenty of everything and no problems.

For the followers of Christ Jesus, we can expect problems.  Problems, when dealt with in a godly way, will glorify God and strengthen our faith in Him.

God spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Midian.  The LORD God had heard the cries of His people in Egyptian slavery.  He was aware of their sufferings.

Great Promises of deliverance
(NASB) Exodus 3:8 “So I have come down to deliver them from the power of the Egyptians…”

Great Promises of plenty in the Promised Land
(NASB) Exodus 3:8 “…and to bring them up from that land (Egypt) to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey…”

Uh-oh, Promises of great problems
(NASB) Exodus 3:8 “…to the place of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.”

The Promised Land had at least six different people groups living in it.  The sons of Israel would have to take the land for themselves… God said so and He also said He would go with them.

God proves Himself to you when He gives you His great promises and His great plenty and great problems to strengthen your faith in Him.

To follow the Lord Jesus is to encounter problems along the way.  We are to obey His words, His marching orders.  We need to be faithful in following Him… He is our Shepherd and Savior.

Following Christ is not an easy road…

Ask His followers in Laos, China, the Philippines, India, Nigeria, Malaysia, Cambodia and the list goes on…

Pray for your sisters and brothers suffering hardship in their daily lives because of their faith in the Lord Jesus.

Yes, the living God has great promises and plenty.  Please do not expect life to be without great problems…

(NASB) Luke 1:37
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
