The Jewish slaves in Egypt were groaning under the oppression of their Egyptian masters.

God responded to His children’s cries and misery!

In another part of the world a man, a Jewish man, in the land of Midian was tending sheep in the wilderness.  He had been raised by the princess of Egypt in the royal household.  What a diversity of background.  How unique.

Your background and your “growing up” years are unique.  And God can use your experiences for His purposes and glory!

(NASB) Exodus 3:1-2 “NOW MOSES was pasturing the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
2 The angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed.”

Had Moses forgotten the slaves in Egypt?  We do not know, Scripture does not say.

This we do know; Moses was a shepherd, at this point in his life.

Moses grew up in the opulence and luxury in a royal household, until he was forty years of age.  He left because he killed an Egyptian.

Moses was a shepherd for the next forty years, working for his father-in-law.

Scripture does not say that Moses thought a lot about the living God… perhaps you do not have the living God in your thoughts either.

Then one day — God caused Moses’ attention to be directed to God Himself.

What or who is the God of the Holy Bible using to get your attention directed to Himself?

All of these things happened to Moses because God heard the groaning of the slaves in Egypt.

What enslaves you?  What is causing you to groan?  God has provided a way for you to be freed… it is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

God has responded to your groaning – He did this many years ago.  He gave His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to take your sins on Himself, as if they were His.  He suffered your punishment for you.

We won’t suffer punishment we deserve when we receive Jesus as our Savior.  Jesus has suffered our punishment when He died on the cross.  This is the reason we need Jesus, as Savior and Redeemer.

God accepted Jesus’ blood sacrifice in your behalf.  Jesus was raised from death to eternal life… it is called the Resurrection.

God has already responded to your groaning… have you received Jesus as your Savior?
