Valuable Training Ground…
Moses killed an Egyptian. He fled when Pharaoh tried to have Moses killed. Moses left behind a privileged life in the royal household. He left his Hebrew relatives who were slaves in Egypt. He fled for his life.
What are you leaving behind when you run away?
(NASB) Exodus 2:15 “When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he tried to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh…”
Moses did not know who God was for himself. Doubtless he believed in the existence of the God of the Hebrews. BUT — he had much to learn.
He spent the first forty years of life in the lap of luxury in Egypt. When he fled to Midian, he lived another forty years as a shepherd. These eighty years were valuable training ground for this man. God would use Moses to lead the Hebrew people from Egypt to the Promised Land.
The life you have lived, the life you are living today, involves hardships, sorrows, joys and fun times. Our lives are a mixture and each part is an important training ground for God’s purposes for us.
Your history is unique; no one else has experienced what you have. Looking back in your life, how has your past experiences prepared you for this time in your life? Each part of your life is valuable training ground… if you so choose! Are you teachable?
