Doing Life God’s Way
Murder is final.
Murder destroys life.
Murder is a crime.
Murder is punishable by death.
The following is a summation of Exodus 2:11-13
True Guilt: Did you know Moses was guilty of murder?
Proof of Guilt: Moses had a witness when he murdered an Egyptian and buried him in a shallow grave.
Confrontation: Moses was confronted by a Hebrew slave, pointing out Moses’ actions.
Targeted to be Killed: by Pharaoh.
Reaction: Moses ran away… far away to the land of Midian.
In all the circumstances just mentioned, Moses did not seek the Lord God … not once.
When anyone goes their own way, doing what they want to do… watch out. Sin will be the result. Are you one of those?”
Is your life like Moses at that time in his life? He evidently thought he was doing the “right” thing when he murdered the Egyptian; after all he was defending a Hebrew slave. Moses was trying to do God’s will his way. It didn’t work! It didn’t work then and it won’t work today.
Foolish thinking turned into action leads to people being hurt, even killed.
Doing life “my way” is not a good idea! In fact it can lead to no good.
How is doing life your way working out for you?
Doing life God’s way is to do what He says to do –
that’s obedience to God and His word.
~ Take it to heart ~
(NASB) Proverbs 3:5-7
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and turn from evil.”
