(NIV) Genesis 50:22-23 “Joseph stayed in Egypt, along with all his father’s family.  He lived a hundred and ten years 23and saw the third generation of Ephraim’s children.  Also the children of Makir son of Manasseh were placed at birth on Joseph’s knees.”

Joseph did not move to his childhood home in the land of Canaan.  He stayed in Egypt.  God led him there many years before and He gave Joseph great responsibilities.  In Egypt, Joseph was given an Egyptian wife.  Joseph was blessed with two sons and saw his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

Joseph’s brothers and their households stayed in Egypt.  They did not return to their homeland in Canaan.

Be ready to stay put or move on as God leads.
Where God leads – there I am to stay.
