(NASB) Genesis 49:28 “All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them.  He blessed them, every one with the blessing appropriate to him.”

Rueben – first born of Jacob and Leah, dishonored his father’s bed by sleeping with a concubine of Jacob.  He did not receive the inherited rights of the first born. (Genesis 35:22)

Simeon and Levi – their actions determined the future of their tribes.  (Genesis 34:25-30)

Judah – the Lord God sovereignly chose the lineage of Messiah to come through this tribe.

Zebulun and Issachar – were blessings to the nation of Israel.

Dan – was a “mixed bag” of godly and ungodly descendants.

Gad, Asher and Naphtali – were solid in their godly heritage.

Joseph – first born of Jacob and Rachel, he was given the firstborn rights and blessings.

Benjamin – the first king of Israel came from this tribe.  Also Saul of Tarsus came from this tribe.  His life was dramatically changed after meeting the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord God’s appropriate blessings depend on your choices today.
