Joseph’s life was hard.  He became a slave in Egypt which led to his imprisonment in the king’s prison.

(NASB) Genesis 49:23 “‘The archers bitterly attacked him,
And shot at him and harassed him.”

Who was God to Joseph?  How did he respond to the living God during this time in his life?

(NASB) Genesis 49:24 “But his bow remained firm,
And his arms were agile,
From the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob
(From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel)…”

God was the Mighty One of Jacob, Joseph’s father.  Joseph firmly held onto his God, as a slave and then a prisoner.

Joseph knew the life of a shepherd as he was growing up and his God was his Shepherd, even in Egypt.

Joseph’s life was built on the foundation Stone of Israel… the living God.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the precious Cornerstone.

(NIV) 1 Peter 2:6 “For in the Scripture it says:
‘See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in Him
will never be put to shame.’”

Upon what, or who, are you building your life?
