(NASB) 1 Thessalonians 5:8 “But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.”

Do you need protection for the everyday skirmishes and battles?  I do!

As a follower of Christ I have been given protection, and this protection comes from God Himself.

The breastplate of faith and love – these are a mighty combination.
Faith in the living God: have you ever considered God’s faith?  His faith is in His Son and I am in awe that His Son is my Savior.  Is He yours?

Love for God because He first loved me!  You love even me, Lord?  Yes!  Even me!
(NASB) 1 John 4:19 “We love, because He first loved us.”

The helmet of hope of salvation – is a part of that strong combination of faith and love.
(NASB) 1 John 4:15-16 “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us, God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”

Followers of Christ – do you bask in God’s vast, infinite love for you?  Do you relax with a thank-filled life for this God of love?

God reveals His love for you and me through His words (the Holy Bible) and through the life of His Son, Jesus.

How do you respond to such tender, infinite love?  How do you love Him back?

1st receive Jesus as your Savior.
2nd yield yourself, all of your life, to obedience to God’s words found in the Holy Bible.

[There are other good sources for sound advice – and I caution you to always, always compare it to God’s word!]

Books have been written about God’s love for you – in fact, sixty-six books; they are called the Holy Bible.

The Holy Bible and the life of Jesus is proof that God loves you… so take the helmet of hope in God’s love for you.

Faith ~ Love ~ Hope ~
My prayer for you as you read this devotional,
turn to God – He loves you!

Faith in Jesus is to receive Him into your life.  Jesus’ love is for everyone who believes in Him.  You will then have a living, eternal hope ~ never to be taken from you.
