Have you ever experienced circumstances in which you were hurt, deeply hurt?  Perhaps you wanted to lash out in anger with a desire for vengeance to get even!

What does God’s wisdom tell us?

(NASB) Proverbs 10:12
“Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all transgressions.”

One example of love covering all transgressions: Joseph’s forgiving love toward his ten older brothers.  They had harshly treated him and sold him as a slave into Egypt.

He could have carried bitter resentment toward them all of his life.  He didn’t.

God put Joseph second in command only to Pharaoh in Egypt.  His brothers came to him to buy grain and they bowed with their faces to the ground before him.

Joseph had chosen to move on in faith in the Lord God.

You also, can move on to greater faith in the living God, the same God Joseph believed in and worshiped.

Hatred stirs up strife – not only between individuals but also within the person who hates!  Physical, emotional and mental problems arise when hatred is fed, stroked and not let go of –   because of unforgiveness.

Love covers all transgressions – this is what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for every person.  Every person!  When we receive Jesus as our Savior, He redeems us from our transgressions and sins.  Jesus, Son of God, does not stir up strife.  His love covers all of our transgressions.

It is your choice – to accept His gift of love and forgiveness or reject it.
