The Lord God gave Joseph two amazing dreams while he was a teen-ager. He was not discreet about them, actually he bragged about those dreams to his ten older brothers.

Dream 1
Sheaves of grain were standing in a field.  Joseph’s sheaf stood up and his ten brothers’ sheaves gathered round and bowed down to his sheaf.  The ten brothers heard and reacted.  “Are you actually going to reign over us?  Or are you really going to rule over us?”  And they hated this immature brother even more.  (Genesis 37:7-8 NASB)

Dream 2
The sun, moon and eleven stars were bowing down to Joseph.  Again his jealous brothers and rebuking father heard this unbelievable dream.  (Genesis 37:9-11)

The brothers took an opportunity to get rid of Joseph; they sold him as a slave.  He was taken to Egypt and later was unjustly imprisoned.  Then years later, through God-ordained circumstances, Joseph was made second in command in Egypt.  The Pharaoh alone was greater.
(Genesis 37:36; 39:1-41:41)

Famine came, a severe famine affecting many countries.  Joseph’s ten brothers went to Egypt to buy grain and appeared before Joseph, who sold grain to everyone.  He was clothed as an Egyptian, he spoke Egyptian and his ten brothers did not recognize him.  (Genesis 42:6)

When they were presented to Joseph they bowed down with their faces to the ground.  Joseph’s dreams from many years before were fulfilled at that moment.

God’s timing is not our timing.  God is fulfilling His purposes in our lives for His glory, not our glory.

God’s design and purpose is unique for you and your life.  He gives you the desires and then He fulfills those desires.  Yielding to Him and His timing is important, even imperative.  Your part and mine is to accept His will in obedience to Him as our Master.

~ Take it to heart ~

God’s purpose is to fulfill His plans for you.
Do you recognize that all things in your life are for His glory?
Are you obedient to His words?
Do you love Him?

Remember:
(NASB) Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
