Meanwhile…
The true story of Joseph and his brothers is heartbreaking. Arrogance on the part of seventeen year old Joseph led to jealousy and hatred on the part of his ten older brothers. Jacob, the father, is deceived by the lies of the ten brothers.
As the ten brothers were deceiving and lying to their father… “meanwhile” Joseph was being sold as a slave in Egypt to Potiphar, who was the captain of Pharaoh’s guards.
“Meanwhile…” explains different circumstances happening at the same time.
Whatever is happening in your life right now, “meanwhile” other circumstances are occurring at the same time somewhere else.
People believe the “evidence” given them. Jacob believed the ten brothers deception of the “death” of Joseph by a wild animal. When in reality, Joseph’s many-colored tunic had been dipped in goat’s blood. While Jacob was being deceived, “meanwhile” Joseph was sold as a slave in Egypt.
God is greater than our circumstances. He is greater than the mighty forces of storms and earthquakes. He is greater than the powers of governments.
The living God is greater than the lies and deceptions spread through social media and various other sources.
God worked in the lives of Jacob and Joseph, despite the lies and deceptions of the ten brothers.
Unknown events; hidden from our line of vision is the “meanwhile” in our life. God works quietly, effectively and in triumph.
The Almighty God worked in the life of Joseph over a period of years… and his father and brothers ultimately benefitted.
Whatever is going on in your life, what does God say to do?
(NASB) Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”What are you to do on a day by day basis in the “meanwhile” of life?
Worship God! Worship is yielding to the living God.
Be transformed! Turn to God and turn from conformity to the world around you.
God’s will for you is good, acceptable and perfect!
~ Take it to heart ~
For the “meanwhile” in your life, trust in God, put your faith in Him.
His love for you is greater than your circumstances.
