The Lord uses many ways to get our attention.  Perhaps He is getting our attention through our circumstances, or through a friend, or through a family member.  What is He using to get your attention?

Jacob left home and was traveling to find a godly wife.  Was this his idea?  Actually, it was not.  His parents wanted him to have a godly wife and he would need to go to his mother’s family to do this… north to Haran. The Lord used a dream to get Jacob’s attention.

In his dream he saw a ladder, a long ladder set on the earth and reaching to heaven.
The Lord God stood above the top of the ladder and spoke to Jacob.

He identified Himself. (Genesis 28:13)
“I am the Lord.”  The Lord God Almighty – El Shaddai – All Powerful.
This same God speaks to you and me.  Are we listening?
This God is the same God who spoke to Jacob and before him, his father and grandfather.

This same God wants you and me to listen and follow His words.  They aren’t advice!  They aren’t suggestions.  They are commands!  They are promises which God will keep and is keeping.

God’s commands and promises do not change from generation to generation.  He is the unchanging God.  When He states — anything — His promises will not change, because He is the All-Powerful God!  Because of His power He is able to fulfill His promises.

God’s power is with His authority and with His strength.  There is no one greater, no one!

  As you go through this day, go with confidence because God’s power is for you!

“I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
