Your historical background is important.  Hindsight gives a 20/20 vision of where you have been.

Perhaps God is a part of your history and perhaps He is not.
Your background makes a difference in your “todays.”
Hindsight into your past – reveals your present and affects your future.

Isaac had a historical background which impacted his life.
Fear and famine led Isaac to a territory and a people who did not know or trust in God.  While Isaac lived among those people, God intervened and protected Isaac and his wife, Rebekah.  (Genesis 26:1-11)

Isaac’s wealth grew.  His character of integrity was shown when he lived at peace among his neighbors.  This is a shining example of godliness.  He did not contend with a quarrelsome people – he moved on.

He continued to move on repeatedly until the confrontations over re-opened water wells stopped.  (Genesis 26:12-22)

He then moved to Beersheba and then the Lord appeared to him.   Isaac received the same covenant which his father, Abraham, had received from the Lord God.  He built an altar and worshiped the name of the Lord.

Isaac had a personal interaction with the living God who appeared to him.

Have you had a personal interaction with the living God of the Bible?  Have you read His words or heard His words from another?  Have you responded to His invitation to receive Him as your Savior through faith in Jesus Christ, God the Son?

Your history is important.
You are important to the living God.
He is waiting to make a difference in your life.

~ Take it to heart ~

What is your past history with the Lord God?  If He is not a part of your past history – you can receive Him into your life – this moment.
