God’s Promises Are For Certain and For Sure!
Death is a certainty for all people. That is a sobering fact, isn’t it? We try to ignore such a possibility for ourselves. The older we become the more we are aware of this certainty.
We are given a future and a hope by faith in the Lord Jesus, Messiah. He promised!
(NASB) John 11:25 “Jesus said… ‘I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies,
26 and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
Jesus did die on a cross and was buried.
But He did not remain in the tomb, Jesus was resurrected to physical life!
Messiah’s death on a cross outside the walls of Jerusalem was prophesied by Isaiah.
(NASB) Isaiah 53:4-9 “Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
6 All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall upon Him.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He did not open His mouth;
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like sheep that is silent before its shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away;
And as for His generation, who considered
That He was cut off out of the land of the living
For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?
9 His grave was assigned with wicked men,
Yet He was with a rich man in His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.”
~ Take it to heart ~
Messiah Jesus fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy when He died for our sins, our transgressions! We are guilty and He took our punishment on the cross.
We can pray this:
‘Thank you Jesus, for being my Savior –
You are The Anointed One of God, Messiah!’
