Eve was deceived by the serpent in the Garden of Eden.  She disobeyed God when she knowingly and willfully ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

The Lord God confronted Adam and Eve.  He then dealt with the sin beginning with the instigator, Satan.  After promising Messiah in the condemnation of Satan, He went on and gave Eve her punishment for disobedience.

(NASB) Genesis 3:16
“To the woman (Eve) He (God) said,
‘I will greatly multiply
Your pain in childbirth,
In pain you will bring forth children;
Yet your desire will be for your husband,
And he will rule over you.’”

There are always consequences when we sin.  Eve and Adam’s disobedience to God became the DNA of all of their children, which includes you and me.  We all sin; we all fall short of the glory of God.  (Romans 3:23)

The consequences of Eve’s sin include all women:
1- All women who give birth to children experience pain in some way.
2- All women have desire for their husbands.
3- All women are to yield, submit to their husbands as head of the home

Consider submission, yieldedness to one’s husband.  Husbands do not “own” their wives and are not to use them as “slaves.”  Husbands are not to treat their wives with harshness or unkindness.

Husbands are to be the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church.

Consider Christs loving protection of His body, the church.  That is how husbands are to be the head of the wife – with loving protectiveness of her.

(NASB) Ephesians 5:22-24 “Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.
24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.”

~ Take it to heart ~

Wives – trust the Lord your God – lean your full weight on Him.  Unless you suffer abuse at the hands of your husband – you should stay in your marriage.

Speak to your husband and seek Godly counsel when needed – together.

Keep the lines of communication open between the two of you.
