The process of temptation can lead to sin against the living God.

Eve is an example of the process of temptation which results in sin against the living God of the Holy Bible.  God said, ‘don’t eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.’

(NASB) Genesis 3:6 “When the woman (Eve) saw that the tree (of knowledge of good and evil) was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband (Adam) with her, and he ate.”

Remember: temptation is not sin.
Choosing to act on the temptation – that is sin.

Temptation is one step at a time: 1- see what looks good

2- delightful to look at

3- desirable to make “me” better

4- taking the final step of temptation is to sin – and – it will involve others.

Eve is a prime example of the process of temptation which, when yielded to, results in sin against the living God of the Holy Bible.

Sin – is against God’s warning and command.
Sin – is a willful act of disobedience.
Sin – will involve others in my choice to sin.  Eve involved Adam and he also sinned against God’s words of warning and command.

When temptation is given into – it becomes sin and sin always involves others – always!

Is Satan tempting you – perhaps through another?  Or is Satan causing another to sin through you?  Be careful who you listen to, if they are leading you away from God – it will lead you into sin.

Are you being deceived by the whispers of Satan?
Are you fretting and not trusting God to work in your situation?

Are you trying to cover over your sin by wearing fig leaves?
(NASB) Genesis 3:7 “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.”

Escaping temptation:
(NASB) 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.”

Turn to God when you are tempted – He is faithful!
