Satan Deceives!
You are responsible for your choices. You are responsible for your responses and reactions to temptation. Temptation leads away from the living God and His best for you.
Eve was tempted by Satan (the serpent) in the Garden of Eden. She listened to his deceptions and responded to his suggestions and she disobeyed God’s words. She involved her husband, Adam, in sin.
(NASB) Genesis 3:1 “Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.”
Be careful – Satan uses deceit to lead you away from the Holy God of the Bible. Self-pity or “poor me” is one deception the devil uses to destroy marriages, jobs, even your personal interaction with God.
Satan is alive and well. He is your enemy because he is the enemy of God. What are some of the attributes, the characteristics of Satan? He is the evil one, the father of lies, the god of this world; he is a liar and a murderer. The devil has power – he is called “the prince of the power of the air,” he rules demons and this world today.
Satan is known as “the serpent of old” and the dragon – this same dragon will be active during the Great Tribulation described in the book of Revelation.
What other names does Satan have? Beelzebub, Belial, the devil. Make no mistake about it; he is our enemy who is determined to destroy God’s people. These names and descriptions are found in the Bible.
~ Take it to heart ~
(NASB) 1 John 4:1-4 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;
3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.
4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”
Beware! The devil deceives anyone he can.
Test the spirits, are they from God?
