Prayers of God’s Leaders
God’s leaders are called by Him to do His will, whether others recognize it or not. When their call is questioned, God’s leaders are still faithful. They continue to pray and nurture the sheep of God’s pasture. They continue to pray that the followers of Christ will do what is right in the sight of God.
The Corinthian church had a problem with Paul being God’s chosen leader. Paul continued to pray for them and he also defended his call by God to lead them.
How did he pray? One of the ways he prayed for the followers of Christ – that they would do what is right. He knew they had a hard time accepting his God-approved leadership.
How did he present himself? He and other leaders did nothing against God’s truth. Godly leaders are careful to follow God’s words in obedience to what God says. Godly leaders work to speak the truth of God and to live in accordance with God’s truth.
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 13:7-8 “Now we pray to God that you do no wrong; not that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, even though we may appear unapproved.
8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth.”
Godly leaders pray for followers of Christ to be made complete, mature and pleasing to God.
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 13:9 “For we rejoice when we ourselves are weak but you are strong; this we also pray for, that you be made complete.”~ Take it to heart ~
Godly leaders pray for the followers of Christ:
(NASB) Ephesians 3:14-19 “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,
16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”
