Followers of Christ – we are to discern those who disguise themselves as teachers and leaders called by God.  This is not a new problem.  The first century church experienced deceptive leaders.

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 11:12 “But what I am doing I will continue to do, so that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting.”

Godly discernment is not “taken in” or “fooled” by disguises which intend to deceive.

Godly discernment does not come under the domination of deceivers’ desire for leadership and power.  Deceivers undermine God’s leaders.  Deceivers are dangerous.

Godly discernment “sees,” understands and exposes the disguised deceivers.

Godly discernment continues to trust God, full of confidence in God and His word.
Godly discernment continues to give out God’s Good News.

Godly discernment recognizes Satan’s servants – they are false apostles, deceitful workers, they disguise themselves as apostles of Christ.  (2 Corinthians 11:13)

Godly discernment recognizes the behind the scene leader of deceivers: Satan who disguises himself as an angel of light.  (2 Corinthians 11:14)

Godly discernment recognizes deceivers acting as servants of righteousness and they will be judged according to their deeds.  (2 Corinthians 11:15)

~ Take it to heart ~

Followers of Christ – we are to use Godly discernment as we serve God.
