What needs do you have?  Not your wants or desires; but, what need is God providing for you this day?

Many times the Lord blesses you through others – when you have needs.  And are you available to bless others by giving toward their very real needs?

We are to give according to what we have.   We should not try to give what we do not have.  It doesn’t work!  Furthermore, God does not expect us to give what we don’t have!

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 8:12 “For if the readiness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.”

We are to give to others needs – financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually and/or socially.

We are blessed when we meet others needs.  They are blessed when their needs are met.

Think about this!
We are to give according to what we have:
Financially – money

Physically – giving time to another

Emotionally – caring

Spiritually – sharing our faith in the living God our Savior

Socially – guarding our time socially with wisdom – as we interact with others.

We are to supply another’s need.  We are to be open and receive when we are in need.

Think about this!
Financially: IF too much money is given – others become dependent on us.  This could lead to resentment and even anger for the giver and the receiver.

Physically: IF too much physical “togetherness” – could become smothering oppression.

Emotionally: IF too much emotional interaction – unhealthy in a lot of ways.

Spiritually: IF too much insistence on being “religious” or “spiritual” – it could result in a big turn off!

Socially: IF too much social media/social interaction – prohibits important times alone with the living God.

~ Take it to heart ~

(NIV) 2 Corinthians 8:15 “as it is written, ‘He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little.’”

I am not to overdo or be stingy.

When I thoughtfully and prayerfully consider another’s need – I am to use godly wisdom in meeting their need according to what I have to give!
