Preach & Serve Jesus Christ
Preach – Jesus Christ
As you talk with others, what is your main topic of conversation? Is your focus on yourself? Is it “I,” “my,” or “me”?
It is amazing to really “hear” myself talk. I like to talk most about — “me!” How sad, but true.God’s word tells us what we are to have as our main focus in any conversation.
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 4:5 “For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake.”Where is my focal point in any conversation? Are my words centered on Jesus Christ as Lord? The word “Lord” used in this sense means Master. Is Jesus Christ really my Master? If so, is my conversation revealing this truth?
Do I talk of my Master in glowing terms, speaking of His living reality?Serve – Jesus Christ
And another thought: when I speak with others, how am I speaking? Is it as a servant to them for the sake of Jesus?Mother Theresa served the poor in the streets of India. She served the physical and spiritual needs of others amidst the darkness of their lives, all for the sake of Jesus.
I am to serve others in the name of Jesus, my Savior. How can anyone consistently and constantly serve others with a Christ-like attitude?
(NASB) 1 Timothy 4:6 “… you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following.”
To follow and serve Jesus – I must be reading/studying His words to me from the Holy Bible.
~ Take it to heart ~
Jesus tells me:
(NASB) John 12:26 “If anyone (my name) serves Me, he (my name) must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant (my name) will be also; if anyone (my name) serves Me, the Father will honor him (my name).”
To preach Jesus Christ – I must know Him.
To serve Jesus Christ – I must follow Him.
Wherever Jesus is – that is where I am to preach and serve Him.
When I preach and serve Jesus – God the Father will honor me!
