Scripture is undeniably clear when it speaks of God’s ownership and his right to rule the entire created universe.
(NIV) Deuteronomy 10:14 states” To the Lord your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it.”  God alone reigns on heaven and earth.

Yesterday, we studied Biblical evidence that proves God is sovereign over the kingdoms of this world.  He does what he pleases regarding nations and governments, both raising and removing world leaders as He wills.  His influence over human affairs does not end at the political level; His rule extends to the personal level as well.  God is sovereign over our individual lives.  He is intimately aware and involved in every step and season of our lives.

It is impossible to read the Bible and not see God’s guiding hand and loving intervention in the lives of His people.  From birth to death, cradle to grave, the Bible gives evidence to the unseen hand and controlling influence of our sovereign, creator God.

(NIV) Psalms 139: 13 – “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” womb.”

(NIV) Psalms 139:16 – “… All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

(NIV) Daniel 5:23 – “… God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.”

(NIV) Matthew 10:30 – “And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”

(NIV) Acts 17:25-26 – “… he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. 26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.”

(NIV) Isaiah 46:4 – “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you.  I have made you and I will carry you… ”

(NIV) Psalms 116:15 – “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”

These are just a few of the overwhelming scripture passages that speak to the sovereignty of God in each of our individual lives.  This truth should give us great comfort.  No matter where you are today, at this very moment; no matter what circumstance you are dealing with, difficult or pleasant; it should give us enormous peace to know that God sees and knows everything.  Not only does He know, but He cares and has a specific and personal plan for your life.

Be encouraged; our sovereign God cares for you and is working all things for your good and Glory.
