When a door of opportunity opens, we are to walk through it.

We are not to turn around and go back because we don’t like what we find on the other side of that door.  OR do we stand on the threshold thinking something will change?

We are to go forward – expecting God to continue to lead us.

“Hind’s Feet on High Places” has a heroine named Much Afraid.  The Shepherd (the Lord Jesus Christ) leads her through much that terrifies her, her name IS Much Afraid.  She doesn’t understand why she has to spend many days in a desert, plodding on with no end in sight.

There are other instances of Much Afraid being confused, is this really the way the Shepherd wanted her to go?  Hannah Hurnard’s allegory of life is an excellent example of the follower’s of Christ, following Jesus their Shepherd… by faith.

~ Take it to heart ~

(NASB) Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.”

Am I trusting the Lord with all my heart in my circumstances?
OR Am I leaning on my own understanding?

Am I acknowledging Him in all my ways?
OR Am I trusting God to make my paths straight?

Am I being “wise” in my own eyes, doing my will, my way?

What do I need to turn from in order to give the Lord reverential fear with obedience to His words to me?
