The problem …                      and …       the solution
Sin causes others sorrow.                      Forgiveness is the key in any                                                                              hurtful situation.

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 2:5 “But if any has caused sorrow, he has caused sorrow not to me, but in some degree–in order not to say too much–to all of you.”

Often times when someone causes others sorrow; it is because of their own choices and wrong doing.  Sin causes sorrow to many others.

Sin always, always involves other people.

My words and my actions and my motives, whether good or bad, affect others.  Not just at the moment, but days, weeks, months and years later.

Where do I turn for relief and release from a guilty conscience and real guilt?  Doing drugs or begging forgiveness from remorse for my words and actions won’t cut it.  This won’t free me from my sin.

Whatever I try, wherever I turn, other than Jesus Christ, I won’t find the help I need.  Why?  The only way to be freed is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior.

(NASB) Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

All have sinned?  Yes, all people sin, all cause others sorrow!  How has God made a way out?  What has He done to give me freedom from true guilt?

Faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior

(NASB) John 3:16 “For God so loved the world (_______), that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever (________) believes in Him (Jesus Christ), shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

~ Take it to heart ~

When I sin, it always affects others in the short term and in the long term. I cause others sorrow.  How has God provided freedom and forgiveness from my causing others sorrow when I sin?

Forgiveness through faith in Jesus saves me from my sins
(NASB) 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”

I am freed from real guilt through the forgiveness of God my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

God forgives me!  I am to forgive others when their sinful words and actions hurt me and cause me sorrow.

True freedom!  Forgiven!  And Forgiving!
