(NASB) Hebrews 13:18 “Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.”

Humility… is yielding to God and His ways for me.

Humility… exposes my need.

Humility… is asking others to pray that I “have a good conscience.”

Humility… does not announce itself to be humble – when I say I am humble, I am actually revealing that I am filled with pride.

A “picture” of humility: is asking others to pray that I would have a “good conscience.”

It is also asking others to pray that I conduct myself honorably in all things.  Not just in church or on Sunday, but all the time.  Humility desires to be with other believers.  (Hebrews 13:18)

Humility recognizes the need of prayers from other believers.  Why?  Because I’m not honoring God when I say things that are not tactful, or based on love for the living God.

Humility needs the Lord Jesus, for He did what I cannot do.  I need God’s forgiveness for all my sins.  Recognizing my need for God’s forgiveness through faith in the Lord Jesus is humility!

(NASB) 1 John 1:9-10 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”

Goal
My goal is to put love from a pure heart into action.

My goal is to choose to screen my thoughts and words – to have a good conscience.

My goal is to have a sincere faith in the living God. (1 Timothy 1:5)

My goal is humility in all things.
