(NASB) Hebrews 13:15 “Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.”

  As I read the above words what do I notice?  I am to give God a continual sacrifice of praise… the fruit of my lips are to be words of thanks to God’s holy name.

The meaning of sacrifice according to a dictionary: “To forfeit (something of value) for something considered to have a greater value or claim.”

The sacrifice of praise should have a greater value and claim on me than my selfishness, my self-pity, and/or my depressing thoughts.  It takes effort, real effort to give my God a continual “sacrifice of praise.”

What do I need to forfeit, to give up in order to praise God my Savior and my Redeemer?

I need to give up whatever is negative in my thinking and motives – what a trade!  To forfeit my negative thinking and pointless motives to the high calling of offering the sacrifice of praise to the living God!

I am not to be pulled down by my, or others, negative attitudes.  I am to look up to my God and praise His name!

~ Take it to heart ~

  I am to not only read about continually praising the living God and His name…

I am to praise Him – All          The         Time!

(NASB) Psalm 147:1 “Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
For it is pleasant and praise is becoming.”
