(NASB) Hebrews 13:1 “LET LOVE of the brethren continue.”

  God does not call anyone to “grit our teeth,” “put on a happy face,” or “make nice” as we serve others and meet their needs.

Love does not pretend to love – that is being a hypocrite.

(NASB) Romans 12:9Let love be without hypocrisy.  Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.”

  Hypocrisy makes you and me a slave to do our own will.  Who are you serving when you are meeting others needs, yourself?  What is our attitude and motive when we are serving others?  How we need to love without hypocrisy!

We need freedom to love others in Christ.
(NASB) Galatians 5:13-14 “For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

The basis for your actions is to be devoted to God and to believers in brotherly love.

(NASB) Romans 12:10-12Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;
11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,
13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.”

Take it to heart ~

Freedom ~ to love and to serve brothers and sisters in Christ.

(NASB) Galatians 5:13 “For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”
