By Faith ~ depend on God
(NASB) Hebrews 11:33, 38 “who by faith…” 38 “…wandering in deserts and mountains, and caves and holes in the ground.”
Unknown heroes of faith are not always named in the Holy Bible, but God knows who they were. Perhaps you are an unknown hero of faith, or you know of an unknown hero of faith today.
In the book of 1 Kings 18:3-4, an historical event is given. Obadiah was in charge of evil King Ahab’s house. He was a believer in the living God…Ahab and his wife, Jezebel worshiped many other gods. Jezebel destroyed the prophets of the Lord, she had them killed.
A hero of faith took 100 prophets and hid them away by fifties in two separate caves. Who was this brave hero of faith? Obadiah! He took a great risk by hiding these prophets. He took a greater risk by supplying them, all of them, with bread and water.
Heroes of faith take risks because their faith is in the living God.
Sometimes the Lord leads His people to run and hide from certain death. He is faithful, He is permanent and He is constant in caring for His own.
Other times, the Lord leads His people to be a witness by standing firm, not running or hiding.
(NASB) Isaiah 55:6-7 “Seek the Lord while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return to the Lord,
And He will have compassion on him,
And to our God…”
Take it to heart ~
God’s purposes are for His Sovereign will to be accomplished.
Listen to Him!
Follow His plan for you each day, each step of the way.
Even though fears, uncertainties, and the unknown future may be in your thoughts – follow His plans for you.
(NASB) Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord.
9 ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
