(NASB) Hebrews 11:32-33 “And what more shall I say?  For time will fail me if I tell…of Samuel…” 33 “who by faith…”

Samuel’s mother, Hannah, was a praying woman.  Her faith in the living God was put into action – she dedicated her first-born son to serve God.  She and her husband saw their son once a year.  Her sacrificial faith is shown in her prayers and actions for Samuel.  Samuel was taken as a young child to live with the priest of God.  Samuel grew up in a corrupt and sin-filled environment.  But the Lord God honored Hannah’s prayers before Samuel was born.
(1 Samuel 1:1-28)

  God protected Samuel
(NASB) 1 Samuel 2:26 “Now the boy Samuel was growing in stature and in favor both with the Lord and with men.”

By faith, Samuel grew and prospered in improbable circumstances.  His mother prayed for him.  Her prayers expressed her faith in the living God.

(NASB) 1 Samuel 2:2 “…There is no one holy like the Lord,
Indeed, there is no one besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God…”

A person’s environment and upbringing in very difficult circumstances does not limit God working in our lives.  Prayers for your children are important, imperative and immensely effective.  Samuel’s faith grew as he was led by the God of the Bible.

Never underestimate your faith in God to work in another’s life.  Hannah’s prayers were heard and answered concerning her son Samuel.  The Lord God called young Samuel in the middle of the night.  (1 Samuel 3:1-18)

Samuel was called by God to be a prophet in Israel.
(NASB) 1 Samuel 3:19-20 “Thus Samuel grew and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fail.
20 All Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the Lord.”

For many years, Samuel was a faithful prophet…and his parents, especially his mother, had a direct bearing on his faith in the God of the Holy Bible.  God honored Hannah’s faith.

Your faith, or lack of faith, does influence your children.

Take it to heart ~

Hannah’s faith influenced Samuel’s faith in the living God.  Your faith will influence others…

Your faith in your Savior, the Lord Jesus, has an effect and does inspire others.

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest possible, how would you evaluate your faith?
