Why did the parents of Moses hide him for three months after he was born?  Were they ashamed of him?  No, he was a beautiful baby.  Were they fearful for his life?  Yes, the Pharaoh (king of Egypt) had given an edict, an order – kill all newborn baby boys.  (Exodus 2:2)  The Hebrew people were growing in great numbers and he was afraid of them, even though they were slaves.

The courageous faith of Moses’ parents is an example for parents today.

Faith in God strengthens you as a parent to do God’s will according to His words.
Faith in God gives you boldness to speak His words into their lives – day by day.

Parents – your faith in God is essential to give you godly confidence to raise your children in a way that pleases God.
Your obedience to God’s words will give godly discipline to your child(ren).

Moses’ parents gave him protection from death when he was taken into Pharaoh’s palace.  The sacrificial actions of his parents protected Moses and gave him a unique education.  He was educated in the highest and best schooling at that time in history.
(NASB) Acts 7:22 “Moses was educated in all the learning of the Egyptians, and he was a man of power in words and deeds.”

Your child(ren) are gifts from the Lord.
(NASB) Psalm 127:3 “Behold, children are a gift of the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.”

Your children, to become a child of God, will learn to love the Lord through your words, your actions and your loving discipline.

For children to learn to obey the living God, they will first learn to obey their parents.  Godly discipline is essential in raising children to follow God later in their life.
(NASB) Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Parents have a responsibility toward their children and children have a responsibility to obey their parents in the Lord.

(NIV) Ephesians 6:1-3 “CHILDREN, OBEY your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  2‘Honor your father and mother’ – which is the first commandment with a promise – 3‘that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.’”

Take it to heart ~

(Amplified Bible) Ephesians 6:4 “Fathers, do not irritate and provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to resentment], but rear them [tenderly] in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord.”

Parents’ faith in God does make a difference in the lives of their child(ren).
