Abraham’s faith was firmly fixed in the living God.  When he was called by God to leave the large city of Ur, he left the life he knew.  He went without a road map not knowing where God was leading him.  It may be uncomfortable to follow God’s call but it is the safest place to be.  (Hebrews 11:8)

Abraham’s faith was lived out through obedience to God’s words to him.  He lived as an alien in a land that God promised to him and his heirs.  He lived in a tent as did his son and grandson after him.  They had the same promise from the same God.  (Hebrews 11:9; Genesis 12:1-8)

Abraham’s faith went a step further – he wasn’t looking for just any city, he was looking for a city that’s planned and built by God.  (Hebrews 11:10)

Faith looks beyond the circumstances of today ~ faith looks forward to the reality of God’s promises tomorrow.  Make no mistake about it, tomorrow will come.

God is faithful; He fulfills His promises…all of them, every time.  Faith is in the reality of God Himself.

Today, keep your goal, your motives and desires on God’s promises.

How do you know what God’s promises are?  Reading His words in the Holy Bible is your road map, your source of knowing Him and His will for you.

As you read, do so by faith that His words are truth, for all of them are true.

(NASB) Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you.  He will not fail you or forsake you. ”

By faith live your life in obedience to God’s words to you.

By faith ~ Abraham lived, expecting God’s promises to be fulfilled.

Take it to heart ~

(NIV) Hebrews 13:5-6 “…because God has said,
‘Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.’
6So we way with confidence,
‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?’”

  By faith we are to live where God leads us, knowing God’s promises are sure.
