The death of Jesus has many outcomes.  The following is one outcome for you and me.

Think about Jesus: such a Savior Who has provided salvation to all who would accept such a gift of grace…faith in Jesus as your Savior, your High Priest.

(NASB) Hebrews 6:19-20 “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,
20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”

Jesus – entered within the veil into the presence of God as a high priest forever.

In the days of when blood sacrifices were offered to God – only the high priest could enter within the veil.  The veil separated the holy place from the most holy place.  One room made into two by a thick veil which hung from ceiling to floor.  The holy place was the place priests entered daily.  The most holy place, within the veil, was only entered one time a year, and that by the high priest alone.  The high priest took a blood sacrifice into the most holy place to atone for his sins and the sins of Israel.

Jesus – entered within the veil with His own blood as a sacrifice to atone for your sins and mine.  He did it only one time – that was enough!  He died as the sacrificial Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world.  (John 1:29)

Jesus cried out with victory before He died, “It is finished.”  (John 19:30)  At that moment the veil in the temple in Jerusalem was torn in half, from top to bottom.  That veil no longer separated the Ark of the Covenant (the symbol of God’s presence) from people.  Anyone could see the ark!  That ark which represented the presence of the living God.

Jesus took the veil away and by God’s mercies – anyone can enter into the presence of the living God.  What Jesus did…when He died in victory.  We also can enter into the magnificent, majestic, holy presence of God – by faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

No longer does anyone need an earthly priest to enter God’s presence to pray, to petition or to praise the living God.  You can do it, right now, where you are sitting or standing.

When Jesus is your Savior, it is through faith in Him that anyone can enter God’s holy presence.

What Jesus did…when He died…He made a way for you – into the very presence of God the Father by faith in Jesus.  Have you received Him as your Savior?  He is Savior and High Priest!  Have you told that great good news to another?
